This month's Case of the Month is built to help you restock after a busy summer. Vecchia Modena, Cleto Chiarli

Cleto Chiarli has been making Lambrusco in Modena for over 150 years, and this bottle carries some of that legacy.

It's made from Lambrusco di Sorbara, the lightest and most delicate of the Lambrusco grapes, thin-skinned enough that the wine pours closer to pale ruby than deep red. Dry, lively, and full of strawberry and cherry with a little floral lift on the nose, it's the kind of Lambrusco that tends to change people's minds about the category altogether.

G.D. Vajra Langhe Rosso

G.D. Vajra has been cultivating vineyards around Barolo since the 1970s, and their Langhe Rosso is the easygoing, everyday side of a serious Piedmont producer.

In the glass it's a transparent garnet red, with cherry, red currant, and a touch of earth on the nose. Medium-bodied and juicy, with soft, well-integrated tannins, it's the kind of wine that overdelivers for the price.

Great with pasta, grilled meats, or just on its own on a Tuesday.
