Introducing Cellar Selections

From time to time, we get the opportunity to get our hands on some spectacular wine. While we are all about the small producers who make quality value wine, we also love the chance to bring in some one-of-a-kind bottles that are perfect for those special occasions, filling up your cellars or just enjoying after a long day.

So we bring you Cellar Selections! Cellar selections include wines from unique winemakers, traditional and classic, that age well but can also be enjoyed today. And most importantly, they are excellent bottles of wine that can be enjoyed celebrating a special moment or paired with an extravagant meal.

Our first Cellar Selection is one of my favorites from Spain. In my 25+ years in the wine industry, no one has impressed me more than Lopez de Heredia. Year in and year out, this bodega has produced the most traditional, fantastic wines coming out of Rioja.

Unlike most producers in Rioja, Lopez de Heredia owns all the vineyards and tends to every vine in them. Not only do they own and tend to their own vines, but they also make their own barrels to age their wines. This further allows them complete control over their wines from soil to bottle.

Over the more than 140 years of existence, they have never chased the latest fads but stayed on course with the tried and true expression of the area and vineyards they live by. Check out their website to learn more about this fantastic winemaker.

We were lucky to purchase some extremely rare wines from Lopez de Heredia, giving you the opportunity to taste their exceptional wines without making the trip to Spain. We have several options available but in very small amounts. Which means they will go quickly!
