The Portland Bottle Shop is a retail merchant of fine wines and specialty beers, located on southeast 13thAvenue in the heart of Portland’s Sellwood neighborhood. The Bottle Shop’s extensive and diverse selection changes often to reflect growing trends, the best values and the finest quality products available to our customers. The Bottle Shop’s welcoming atmosphere is perfect to enjoy a glass of wine or beer while you shop. We also have a selection of cheeses, meats, olives and snacks, and a comfortable seating area. Our staff offers valuable product knowledge in a friendly, approachable style, accommodating the different needs of each customer. TRAVIS MOTTER, OWNER
CERTIFIED SPECIALIST OF WINE & SOMMELIER
Travis began his career in Maryland over 15 years ago after discovering his love for wine on a trip to California’s Napa Valley. After several years working in various Baltimore restaurants, he worked for The Wine Merchant in Lutherville, Maryland, one of Baltimore’s most successful wine shops. While working at the shop he studied to become a Certified Specialist of Wine through the Society of Wine Educators.
In 2003 Travis decided to move closer to the mountains, vineyards and amazing food and headed to Portland. He managed Woodstock Wine and Deli in SE Portland for four years before accepting a position as the sommelier for one of Portland’s premier restaurants, Simpatica Dining Hall and Catering. In 2009, Travis established the wine program for Simpatica owners’ nationally recognized restaurant, Laurelhurst Market.
