Clos des Brusquieres 2003 Chateauneuf du Pape

Once in a while one of my distributors walks through the door with a deal you can’t pass up. This dark, chewy wine comes to us, not only, aged to perfection, but with a price tag that is very hard to pass up. I am not sure you can do better than this wine when you are preparing a beef stew or any kind of braised dish. Big, heady nose followed by tobacco, mocha and black fruit flavors that lead to a long, dusty finish. Fabulous! Robert Parker call this a “…superb 2003 Chateauneuf du Pape…” giving it 90 pts. Anyone familiar with Chateauneuf du Pape know that most of these wine run into the $50 range, but not this beautiful deal. While supplies last, this wine is only $28/bt. or only $22.4 by the case!!! For Chateauneuf du Pape? Are they crazy? I think they are, but don’t you be. Get this while it lasts.

Telmo Rodriguez Dehesa Gago 2007

Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate said it best, “Deep crimson-colored, it offers up an excellent bouquet of pencil lead, violets, incense and blackberry,” and gave it 89 pts. I think they nailed it. The nose jumps out at me with dark floral notes and layers of baked fruit. An amazing deal at the original price of $20/bt., however, with a quick change of distributors, it is now only $10/bt.!!! Thats right, and by the case it drops to $8/bt.! Do not hesitate though, there are not many cases left.
